We work across South Yorkshire and don’t have an office: our team works remotely. Our registered address is with Barnsley CVS if you need to send a letter, but it is better to get in touch with us via email or phone. Please visit the Contact Us page.
Our facilitators run conversations in South Yorkshire. We value local, grassroots experience. However, we have a wide network of national partners and can help equip people to hold conversations in the places where they live. If you are not based in South Yorkshire but want to keep in touch with us, discuss an idea or form a learning partnership, please get in touch or join our mailing list.
In 2010, by a group of community and faith leaders who heard people they cared for saying things they found difficult - about race, immigration and culture. They believed that facilitated conversations and dialogue would help their communities, so they started working together to enable those to happen.
In 2021. Find our details here. Between 2010 and 2021, we operated as an independent project under the umbrella of another charity, Sheffield Methodist District.
The best way to reach us is by email. You can telephone us on 07704 940275, find us on social media or join our mailing list. Every member of our small team works part-time, so responses to individual communications may not be immediate.
Usually, our conversations are for a small, invited group. They only work well if participants feel safe enough to contribute. We do not disclose locations. If we do host an ‘open’ conversation, in a park or public space, we will advertise it more widely. If you want to know more about our conversations, please get in touch.
We’re delighted you’re interested! If you know a group that you think would benefit from a conversation like those we run, we’d love to hear from you. Setting up a conversation can be meaningful and help in a community. It also takes time and thought and isn’t the right thing to do in every situation. Please get in touch with us to talk about your ideas.
Thank you! We always welcome financial support and donations are vital: one conversation can cost around £1,000 to organise and deliver. You can donate here. We also work with volunteers and partner organisations - please get in touch if you’d like to offer something or suggest a partnership. Joining our mailing list is also a good way to be kept informed about opportunities.
A Who is Your Neighbour? conversation for a group you are part of might be appropriate. Sometimes, we offer training and consultancy to equip people to manage the situation they are in, or to hold a conversation themselves. We are developing this aspect of our work further - we know that the great tools and methodology we have developed could be useful in many places. Please get in touch so we can find out more about your situation.
