FAQs

Do you have a question not featured here? Ask it!

Where are you based?

We work across South Yorkshire and don’t have an office: our team works remotely. Our registered address is Unit 4 Atlas Office Park, First Point, Balby Carr Bank, Doncaster DN4 5JT if you need to send a letter, but it is quicker to get in touch by email or phone.

Do you only work in South Yorkshire?

We hold conversations in South Yorkshire and have regional and national partners we support in dialogue work where they live. To explore working with us, get in touch or find out more by joining our mailing list.

When was Who is Your Neighbour? founded?

In 2010, by a group of community and faith leaders who heard people they cared for saying things they found troubling - about race, immigration and culture. They thought conversations and dialogue would help but required careful holding, so started working together to make that happen.

When did you become a registered charity?

In 2021. Find our details here. Between 2010 and 2021, we operated as an independent project under the umbrella of another charity, Sheffield Methodist District.

How can I contact you?

The best way to reach us is by email. You can telephone us on 07704 940275, find us on social media or join our mailing list. Every member of our small team works part-time, so responses to individual communications may not be immediate.

How can I join one of your conversations?

Usually, our conversations are for a small, invited group because participants need to feel safe enough to contribute. If we host an ‘open’ conversation, in a park or public space, we will advertise it. To explore joining a conversation or inviting us to hold one, get in touch.

Would you hold a conversation where I live / work?

We’re delighted you’re interested! If you know a group that you think would benefit from a conversation like those we run, we’d love to hear from you. Setting up a conversation can be meaningful and help a community; it also takes time and thought and isn’t the right thing to do in every situation. Please get in touch  to talk about your ideas.

How can I support your work or partner with you?

Thank you! We always welcome financial support and donations are vital: one conversation can cost around £1,000 to organise and deliver. You can donate here. Get in touch if you’d like to offer something or suggest a partnership. Joining our mailing list is also a good way to be kept informed about opportunities.

I hear troubling things about race, immigration, culture (or something else) - can you help?

Yes! A we could hold a conversation for a group you are part of or provide some training in responding to troubling things and / or holding safe conversations.Get in touch to explore options together.
